How to read this page
Real names appear once a shopper is known: when they type their email or address in checkout, log in, or buy. ★ Bought before = an existing customer with past orders (hover for total spent and last order). 🆕 First order = bought today for the first time.
Shopper #1, #2 ... are permanent numbers: the same phone or computer keeps its number on every visit (also when Shopify resets its cookie but the cart survives). ↩ returning = first seen on an earlier day.
Each shopper is an anonymous browser. No names or emails are collected. Their place comes from the time zone on their phone or computer, or from their delivery country once they reach checkout.
Active now (green tag) = did something in the last 2 minutes. Idle · N min (grey tag) = how long since their last action. A shopper's block stays until they have been idle for the time you pick (10, 30 or 60 min, top right of the list) - there is no reliable signal when someone closes the tab, so long idle = left.
The 4 steps: Browsing (looking around) → Cart (added something) → Checkout (opened checkout) → Paid. The coloured bar on each shopper shows how far they got.
Tap a step at the top or a product in "Most added" to show only those shoppers. Tap a shopper's name to see everything they did.
“Looks automated” = a bot or a crawler. Staff = your own team (tap “This is our staff” on a block; visits from the same network are then marked staff too). Both are hidden from the counts and the Monday report, and only shown with “Show bots & staff”.
Alerts pop up (with a soft ding) whenever someone adds to cart or pays, while this page is open.
Times are in your store's time zone. The page shows the last 3 days; every event is also kept for a year for the Monday email.
